Concrete textiles (cold concrete) is a revolution in construction! It is an innovative building material also called roll of concrete or concrete fabric.

Concrete textiles, what is it?

The material consists of two layers of geotextile with a dry concrete mixture between them. This construction allows it to be flexible and to take the shape of the surface to which it is applied. After being given the desired shape without using any special equipment, the concrete textiles (cold concrete) are watered with water to harden and become ready for use. Concrete textiles begin to harden after 1-2 hours after application of water, and within a day they gain 80% strength.

General characteristics

Concrete textiles (cold concrete) are designed to replace ordinary concrete in the widest range of activities, even where the use of plain concrete is impossible.

This means that concrete textiles (cold concrete) can be used in all areas of the economy – in civil and infrastructure construction, in the agricultural sector and in the military.

The military version of concrete textiles (cold concrete) is slightly different from civilian ones. It has additional layers: the inside is made of a mixture of polyurethane resin and fiberglass and the top is made of polyurethane resin and sand.

The most common application areas of concrete textiles (cold concrete) are slope protection, ditching, laying of concrete in places where dust-free technology is required, repair of existing concrete coating. In the military sphere – laying of temporary roads, runways, construction of sites.

In most cases, the use of concrete textiles (cold concrete) is not recommended for concreting highways, but for private roads its use is justified.

Due to its hygroscopicity, the rolls of concrete textiles (cold concrete) should be stored in dry conditions, in sealed packages by the manufacturer, which prevents any moisture. The actual application of concrete textiles (cold concrete) can be carried out in a humid environment and even under water, as it will take several hours to harden.

When laying concrete (cold concrete) in very dry conditions, during the first 8 hours, it should be moistened every 2 hours to prevent the water from evaporating prematurely.

With proper installation, concrete textiles (cold concrete) will not require maintenance and repair.

If necessary, concrete textiles (cold concrete) can be easily destroyed using standard construction techniques.

Concrete textiles (cold concrete) are very unpretentious in use. Hydration can be done with both fresh and salt water, and its installation is possible even on the vertical surface. Before hydration, if necessary, concrete (cold concrete) can be cut with hand tools – disposable blades or disc blades, and after hydration – with ceramic scissors or tile cutters.

Despite the environmental friendliness of the process and the practical absence of dust, manufacturers recommend using protective equipment such as face masks, protective clothing and gloves when applying concrete textiles (cold concrete).

Excellent properties of concrete textiles (cold concrete):

waterproof – after curing, water cannot flow through the canvas;
resistance to temperature changes – in hardened concrete textiles (cold concrete) withstands over 200 freezes / thaws;
resistance to corrosive media – acids, alkalis and other chemicals;
UV resistant – not destroyed by exposure to sunlight;
stability – when properly designed and assembled, concrete textiles (cold concrete) do not require repair and maintenance throughout their life;
long service life – more than 50 years under normal climatic conditions.
In what areas is concrete (cold concrete) used:

In road construction – concreting and repairing roads, lining drainage channels along roads.
Railway construction – laying a drainage ditch along the railway line, reinforcing the embankment on a railway or bridge
Agriculture – a simple and convenient way of lining canals and ladders.
Oil and Gas Industry – Pipeline Protection: Concrete textiles (cold concrete) can cover any soil surface, even with dense vegetation, inhibiting their growth under pipelines. It can also be used to protect against oil spills.
Mining – Lining of sedimentary tanks for the removal of acidic water from mines, as well as for the preparation of drainage systems.
Strengthening of banks and ditches – the use of concrete textiles (cold concrete) is simpler, more economical and faster, as opposed to the installation of concrete blocks, gabion structures and concrete slabs.
Embankment reinforcement and c

Reinforcement of wells
Erosion protection
Partition walls in mines
Military construction – the creation of protective structures, for example, bunkers, power plants, warehouses, trenches, as well as expeditious concreting of surfaces.
Gutter Repairs – The use of concrete textiles (cold concrete) to repair gutter systems saves time and money.
Gabion Restoration – Concrete textiles (cold concrete) canvas encircle the structure, forming a solid protective coating.
