What is a gabion, what is it used for and what are its advantages?
Gabions are a structure invented in the 19th century. They are elements made of metal mesh with different shapes and configurations, filled with stone material. There are many varieties of gabions depending on the geometry, technological features, finish, application and function.
One of the main applications of electro welded gabions is their use for the manufacture of fences and walls. Gabion fences have a high structural resistance, as the combination of metal mesh and rock fragments provides high tensile and compressive strength to the fence.
